AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued the following statement today upon the Texas Senate’s Passage of House Bill 4, the Congressional Redistricting Map, sponsored by Sen. Phil King, R-Weatherford, by a vote of 18-11:
After a two-week Democrat quorum break and other delays, HB 4, the Congressional Redistricting Map that adds 5 Republican majority districts, finally passed late last night.
“This is a significant step forward — Texas’ Congressional Redistricting Map will now more accurately reflect our state. The people of Texas expect and deserve a Congress that represents their values,” said Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
