Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick: Statement on the Passage of Senate Bill 10 — Placing the Ten Commandments in Schools



 

AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued this statement today following the passage of Senate Bill 10, Placing the Ten Commandments in Schools, on second reading (final passage on third reading tomorrow), by Sen. Phil King, R-Weatherford:

“By placing the Ten Commandments in our public school classrooms, we ensure our students receive the same foundational moral compass as our state and country’s forefathers. I thank Sen. Phil King for carrying this key legislation.”

Senate Bill 10, by Sen. Phil King, requires the posting of the Ten Commandments in every public school classroom starting in the 2025-2026 school year.
