HOUSTON — Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued the following statement today following Governor Greg Abbott’s addition of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) reform to his list of emergency legislation items:

“I share the frustration of every Texan regarding the loss of power during this winter storm. Millions of people without power during this arctic blast is life-threatening and unacceptable. We must get to the bottom of this to be sure we are better prepared even if an unprecedented weather event happens again. The Senate Business & Commerce will move forward with hearings to get answers to our questions.”
