Later this afternoon, an El Paso Police Department officer was also wounded when shots were fired at him.

“We must never forget that our law enforcement officers risk their lives for us every day. Today, a Harris County Deputy Sheriff and two law enforcement officers from the Attorney General’s Office were wounded in the line of duty. Later this afternoon, an El Paso police officer was also wounded when shots were fired at him. Fewer than a hundred thousand law enforcement officers have taken on the job of protecting millions of Texans. Please keep their families and their law enforcement agencies in your prayers.”
