Lt. Governor Patrick Announces Appointments to Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders



 

AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has appointed four individuals to the Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders.

 

Dr. Vaunette Fay, Houston, has a PhD in Nursing Theory Development and Research and is a Professor of Clinical Nursing at University of Texas Health School of Nursing in Houston. She has over 30 years of experience in nursing education and care of older adult patients and their families.

Ana Guerrero, Galveston, is the manager at Lovelady Brewing Company, LLC. She has worked for the Alzheimer’s Association – Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter – where she continues to volunteer.

Dr. Char Hu, Austin, has a PhD in Structural and Computational Biology and Molecular Biophysics. He is Co-Founder and CEO of Georgetown Living Alzheimer’s Assisted Living Facility and Founder and CEO of The Helper Bees, which utilizes technology to enhance the in-home care experience for seniors.

Terrence Sommers, Amarillo, has spent over 21 years working in national security and public safety in all levels of government agencies. He is also an adjunct professor developing and implementing mental health and Alzheimer’s curriculum.

 

The Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders advises the legislature and recommends needed action for the benefit of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders and for their caregivers.
