Lt. Governor Patrick Congratulates the Texas Water Development Board for Providing Flood Mitigation Funding Assistance to Harris County

AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick issued this statement today following the Texas Water Development Board’s announcement that it will award a $47 million no interest loan to Harris County Flood Control for improvements to Brays Bayou:

“I want to congratulate the Texas Water Development Board for providing these flood control resources to Harris County. This is just one of the mitigation steps I proposed following the deadly Memorial Day flood in Wimberley in 2015 and why I continue to support bolstering our State Flood Plan. The Texas Senate will continue to identify ways for the state of Texas to join with local government to address flood mitigation.”
