Lt. Gov. Patrick Participates in Day of Prayer in Houston

HOUSTON – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick participated in Day of Prayer services this morning at the Second Baptist Church in Houston. The lieutenant governor spoke and shared scripture at both the 9:30AM and 11:30AM services.

“God have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.”  Psalms 57: 1-2

“Our hearts are heavy on this day of prayer as we remember the lives that have been lost, the families and friends who are grieving. We also pray for those who have lost everything they have, their homes and their communities. But we are also thankful today for the many, many lives that were saved by our brave first responders and the outpouring of volunteers across the state who dropped everything to serve others in the path of the storm. We ask God this morning to give us the strength and spirit we know we will need going forward to recover and rebuild our great state.”
