Sherry Sylvester Appointed Senior Adviser to Lt. Governor

AUSTIN – Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced today that he has selected Sherry Sylvester to serve as a senior adviser.

“I am very excited to welcome Sherry to our team,” said Patrick. “We have worked together on numerous issues over the years. She brings a world of experience to our staff and will be a great asset to us as we enter the next legislative session.”

“Lt. Governor Patrick is the leading voice for strong conservative action and principles, not only in Texas, but increasingly in the nation,” Sylvester added. “I am delighted and honored to be joining his stellar team.”

Sylvester has served as the spokeswoman for Texans for Lawsuit Reform for the last 10 years where she coordinated communications operations for the organization’s public policy efforts as well as the political action committee. She played a similar role for Texans for Education Reform during the last two legislative sessions.

Sylvester is an award winning journalist with extensive experience in public policy and politics. She covered politics for the San Antonio Express-News and in 2005 was named “Alumnus of the Year,” at her alma mater, the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University, for her contributions in professional politics. She holds an undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University.
