Lt. Governor Patrick on U.S. Supreme Court Oral Arguments On Obama’s Amnesty Program

AUSTIN –  I stand by Texas Attorney General Paxton and the bi-partisan 26-state coalition that gave oral arguments today against the president’s executive amnesty program.

The president is attempting to bypass the U.S. Constitution by creating a program that encourages illegal immigration and undermines the rule of law. Instead of granting amnesty to those who break the law, the president should focus his efforts on securing our porous border and enforcing the immigration laws we have in place.

Texas will continue to step up where the federal government has failed. National security starts with border security and border security begins in Texas.
