Lt. Governor Patrick Receives 2016 Public Leadership in Energy & Environmental Stewardship Award

AUSTIN –  Today, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick received the 2016 Public Leadership in Energy & Environmental Stewardship Award, during the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) meeting in Washington D.C. The award, in partnership with General Electric (GE), recognizes an official who played a key role regarding energy and environmental stewardship, enhancing the lives of constituents and positively impacting every aspect of American life.

“It is an honor to receive this nationally recognized award from the NLGA and GE,” said Patrick. “Texas has a lot to offer that can potentially change how the entire country uses fuel. We have an abundant amount of natural gas that is cheap, clean and will create jobs. The Texas Senate has lead by example by continuing to push to convert government vehicles to natural gas, through attrition, over the next decade. This will save taxpayers millions, strengthen the natural gas market and improve air quality in Texas.”

Lt. Governor Patrick is the sixth recipient of the Public Leadership in Energy & Environmental Stewardship Award. The award recognizes officials that have impacted energy, the economy, agriculture, natural resources, clean technology, the environment, transportation, job creation, education, healthcare and more.
