Lt. Governor Patrick Announces Elections Advisory Committee Appointments



 

AUSTIN – Today, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick appointed six members of the Texas media to the Elections Advisory Committee. The purpose of this committee is to evaluate the reporting and tabulation of unofficial returns for the primary and general elections. The committee makes recommendations to the office of the Texas Secretary of State.

The following members have each been appointed to two-year terms set to expire on December 31, 2017:

Mark Davis (The Mark Davis Show)
Chad Hasty (KFYO Radio)
Ross Ramsey (The Texas Tribune)
Pedro Rojas (Univision)
Mike Ward (The Houston Chronicle)
Jason Whitely (WFAA)

“It’s crucial to maintain transparency in all levels of government,” said Patrick. “The experience and perspective each member brings to the table will be invaluable to the election process in Texas. The Elections Advisory Committee helps preserve the integrity of our civic duty, privilege and responsibility – the right to vote.”
