AUSTIN – Today, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, along with Senate Finance
Chair, Jane Nelson, announced the comprehensive senate budget.

“I am very pleased to join Senate Finance Chair Jane Nelson in announcing the
Senate’s budget blueprint (Senate Bill 2) for the next biennium,” said Patrick.
“Senator Nelson has helped design a budget all Texans can be proud of and know
that the tax money they are sending to Austin will be spent conservatively and
wisely.

“This budget will provide significant tax relief ($4 billion) to homeowners and
businesses, make sure our border is secure with twice the amount of previous
funding, jumpstart overdue road construction projects and make sure education
needs to remain a top priority.

“I look forward to working with the Senate Chair and all of my colleagues in the
Senate in addressing the needs of all Texans.”
