AUSTIN – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced the appointments of the following senators to the Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board today:

Sen. Charles Schwertner, R-Georgetown – Co-Chair
Sen. Brandon Creighton, R-Conroe
Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen
Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham

“I am proud to appoint these senators to the Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board. Responsible governance of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) is of the utmost importance for our coastal communities, and I am confident these senators will focus their attention on this oversight task.”

The Windstorm Insurance Legislative Funding and Funding Structure Oversight Board will collect information regarding the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association’s (TWIA) current funding and funding structure. They will review how the catastrophic risk pools of other states operate as well as other information the board considers necessary to prepare a report for the legislature.
